Love was certainly in the air at the Southport Bridal Fair recently. A beautiful day, great music and local business all combined for a great time at the waterfront.

Recently, I was down at the Southport, NC Waterfront to shoot some video for the Coastal Women’s Bridal Fair. When I drove up to the Southport Community Center, I watched Man and his best friend playing fetch in the water.

Hello everyone. Friday morning was so beautiful at the coast that I felt the need to share. I got up, had some coffee and hit the email first thing as usual. As I kept glancing out the window, the sun flowing in was like a magnet drawing me to step outside. I stepped out on the deck and the first thing I felt was the crisp cool air. The kind of crisp that make you just want to just stand there and experience it. The next thing I noticed was the sharp color of blue in the sky. The sky is bluer at the coast. It was quiet except for the birds. Let me just go ahead and say it. It was awesome and I felt very privileged and lucky to be there experiencing it.

Before I knew it, the New Balance tennis shoes were on.

The Adidas workout pants were on. The New Balance high tech workout shirt was on and last but not least, the Nike visor was on. I have no idea how all of that happened. I looked in the mirror and it was there. Before I knew it, I’m walking a brisk pace towards the waterway.

This is our home in Brunswick Landing. It serves as our D & S Developers “Model” home.

This past Saturday I enjoyed a new life experience. I went to a wine tasting. Luanne & I, along with Doug & Adriana Weaver went to a wine tasting at the Silver Coast Winery at Ocean Isle Beach. It was a lot of fun actually, and I learned about wines and wine making.

The Silver Coast Winery is home to Coastal North Carolina’s premier producer of premium wines.

Talk about one gorgeous day. We had a lot of fun at the waterfront and made some new friends. I met Mike & Debbie Wills and we do a fun interview on the pier. Southport NC, is one of our favorite places in the world.

Our family has been coming here for over 30 years. It’s a quaint little fishing village where 3 bodies of water meet. The Atlantic Ocean, The Cape Fear River and the Atlantic Ocean.

Today we are featuring the Jumpin Java Coffee Shop in Shallotte, NC. Shallotte is located in Brunswick County just south of Holden Beach, NC. Jumpin Java is located at 4635 Main St. Shallotte, NC. I’ve been going to Jumpin Java for about 2 years now, and it’s one of my favorite stops. In the summer, I love their fruit smoothies, especially the peach.

I don’t know what it is about their coffee blends, but after one sip, you start thinking “why doesn’t my coffee taste like this at home”?  

Their blends are delicious. Daniel Beasley and Sarah are the owners and they make me feel at home when I walk in. It’s the type of place where they know you by name and make you feel welcome. I can take out my laptop and check my email or just relax to nice background music while checking out The Surf online. You owe it to yourself to stop by and treat yourself. I always drive down to the waterfront whenever I’m in Southport. On this particular day, it was picture, postcard perfect. I grabbed the video camera to share some video with you.

Southport, NC is a beautiful place and famous for it’s historic district as well as the NC Fourth of July festival.

Southport is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is ranked by Rand McNally and Kiplinger as one of the most desirable places in the United States to retire. Southport is also a great place for a fun daytrip. History buffs will especially appreciate a visit to Southport for it’s beautiful old homes and historic cemeteries. It was a cold and windy day at the Holden Beach, NC fishing pier. The pier seemed so lonely that it was longing for the long hot days of summer. I hope you enjoy this video. I will not soon forget it because I nearly froze that day in all of the cold wind. Click the photo to view the video.
